classes taught by Maynard Medefind at Atwater High School, Merced
Union High School District. These special classes, held for 16
years, have received widespread recognition for their scientific
integrity and for developing an environmental awareness. Shelton
Johnson has presented this historical perspective to thousands
of students throughout the country in association with PBS.
