The story begins in
the dark world, the lowest of the three worlds below the present
world, which is symbolically white. The others are the yellow
world below this one, and below that the blue world.
In the dark world there
were five entities, Hashjeshjin the Fire God whose mother is
a comet, First Man the son of Night and of Naho-doklizh, the
blue sky above sunset, also First Woman, whose mother is Daybreak
and her father the Yellow Sky of Sunset.
